Are You Ready to Join Me in an Exciting New Online Virtual Class?

My clients have been asking me to create a new online course to help them or their direct reports advance their communication skills.  They share their frustration about colleagues or employees who are bullies, negative, hot-headed, or rude. Some clients want to be taken more seriously and get noticed and want to become a stronger communicator.

They also asked me to make the course easy, affordable, results-oriented, and have time with me as their online coach.  The last couple of months have been very productive because I took a few courses on how to engage and train successful virtual experiences.  All the years as a workshop trainer and keynote speaker are being put to use along with these new and exciting strategies to create online experiences for clients.  I’m ready to help anyone who wants to join me on this powerful journey.

I started a BETA class to cover these issues a few weeks ago.  It was such a success that led me to go the next step and create Kick Conflict to the Curb:  Get the Respect YOU Deserve.  The new class will be starting the week of June 8.  It is 6-weeks long and clients will be working with me and the other communication rock stars to practice new strategies and discuss their communication or conflict issues that they want to resolve.  It’s all about improving relationships at work and home while feeling more peaceful and reduce all the drama!

Please reach out to me to find out if this class is right for you or anyone who could benefit from becoming a master communicator.  I would love to see you as a Founding Member because the investment will never be this low after this first class.  Call 248.310.6998 (cell) or 800.713.1926 (office) to get you started.  The video will give you more details.

We can even set up a private class with your employees to fit their specific schedules.

A Communication Secret to Control Your Triggers

Would you like to learn a communication secret to control your triggers?
Do others know how to push your triggers?

The video below will give you an important communication secret to gain control of some of your triggers.

Communication Secret #1:  Identify Your Triggers

I recently produced an online virtual training on Controlling Your Triggers.  The participants work at a small business and wanted me to help them cope better during the 2020 pandemic.  They came up with the following list of triggers:

  • Living with different personalities 24/7
  • Lack of boundaries and space
  • Children thinking that the pandemic will never end
  • High school students not having a senior year
  • Relationships deteriorating
  • Parents working full time while homeschooling
  • Extended families living together

Communication Secret #2:  Know that Change is Part of Our Life Right Now

A trigger of mine is when people constantly complain about how things have changed and they do nothing about this.  This may sound like I’m really hard on others.  Those of you who know me realize that I raise the bar of expectations very high either for me or my clients.  Change is part of our lives.

  • We all know people who deal well – and who don’t deal well with change.
  • This is not new.
  • What is new is that we are ALL experiencing a change in our routine.
  • Change is a trigger for some people.
  • We can offer support and even help them look at options.
  • It’s up to all of us to see that we can see everything as out of our control or do our best to look for opportunities in this change.

Communication Secret #3:  Make Your “Trigger” Conversations Safe

First, decide who you want to have a conversation with to clear the air.  Create a plan using the following strategy:

I do want to ___________________.
I do not want to _________________.

I do want to have an important conversation about boundaries.
I don’t want to create stress between us.

Once you start off your conversation this way, you can then go deeper on what boundary you need to discuss with this person.
Please comment on this blog with who you can use this secret and what you hope to accomplish.  I will send you a response on how you can improve your plan or give you the green light to move forward.  You can always send me a private email if you have a sensitive topic that you want to ask me.

A Motivational Video about Inner Stress

Have you ever watched a motivational video that spoke to you?  Where the story seemed personalized just for you?

It seems that the best motivational videos appear on my screen at the right times.  I’m writing this article during the pandemic in May 2020.  We are all living in fear yet there are opportunities happening all the time if we just look for them.

  •      Cooking innovate meals with the family
  •      Eating meals together
  •      Dividing chores up while listening to our favorite music
  •      Zoom parties with family or friends
  •      Spending quality time outside
  •      Taking an online course

The motivational video below is one of my favorite stories about a Cherokee grandfather talking about life with his grandson.  Hope you enjoy it also.

Motivational Video Story

A Cherokee grandfather was having a deep conversation with his grandson about life.  The grandfather said, “There is an inner fight going on within me between the bad wolf and good wolf.  The bad wolf is mean, selfish, negative, and a bully.  The good wolf is caring, supportive, positive, and generous.  There’s the same inner fight going on within everyone including you.”  The grandson asks, “Which wolf wins?” The grandfather says, “It depends on the one you feed.”  motivational video

Motivational Video Interpretation by Joyce

I’ve told this story many times to clients who are stuck either with relationships or careers.  They see the meaning immediately when the realization is that most of the time they are feeding the bad wolf.  We then discuss their action steps on how to start feeding the good wolf.  A great first step is to realize how much time we spend feeding the bad wolf.

We can all stop our inner fights as long as we are willing to change this pattern.  It’s not easy to do because there is so much negativity in the world.  It’s hard work to concentrate on the “good wolf.”  Don’t let the negative ones influence you.  Remember, “Don’t walk from negative people – RUN!”

Negative People are Part of Our Reality!

It’s true that negative people are part of our reality.
Here’s a powerful question for you – How many times do you remind yourself that you don’t need to be with people who bring you down?
We all know this, yet many of us don’t know that we can set boundaries and actually change this reality.

Yearly I do a serious job of spring cleaning for clothes, the house, and relationships that are toxic.  You heard me right.  We all have those people who constantly complain yet never change anything in their life.  Life is too short to be around negative people who rain on our or their parade.

Start thinking about how you can and need to spend more time with those who make you laugh, smile, think, learn, etc.  We all have our own definition of toxic people.  Remember this the next time you speak to a friend who complains about everything.  I’m not saying to end the relationship all the time.  Implement a plan to be with those who support you and bring joy to your life.

Please let me know how this motivational poster on negative people speaks to you in the comment section.
