Yes We Can Change FEAR Into Action!

Fear into action

Hello,  DEAR Kick Conflict to the Curb Weekly Update Readers!

I just thought about the power of this quote on changing fear into action.  I use this quote when clients want to improve their communication skills and relationships both at work and home.

Most of us don’t have the skills on how to successfully have that tough conversation.  It’s always a risk! Always! There is no guarantee that it will go well.
I always say that it’s worth the risk.  Our confidence level improves the more success we have with those difficult people or conversations.

It’s all about changing our mindset.  Not easy to do – and so necessary to change fear into action. We all need coaches or a support system to help us when we are stuck. Future blog posts will cover the 5 strategies in my Weiss Communication Success Plan – a significant cornerstone of our virtual course; Kick Conflict to the Curb.

If you want more information on the powerful communication strategies, all you have to do is search for past articles on the following related topics:

  • Conflict Resolution
  • The GAP-Your Safe Place
  • Making Conversations Safe
  • Triggers
  • Be Direct with Respect
  • Verbal Aikido

Let’s Stay Connected!

  • When have you changed fear into action?
  • Was it easy or hard for you?
  • How did this experience change you in a positive way?

I’ve shared my story about changing my fear of deep water into action by taking snorkeling lessons in a pool – Hey small steps, folks. 🙂 The action is that I took a trip to Bora Bora and you couldn’t get me out of the South Pacific because I loved the experience.  If I could overcome this lifelong fear, you can too.

What are some of your fears that you would like to overcome? Those of you who share either in the comment section below or send me an email will receive a new video (that I have not posted yet) about using props to engage your virtual meetings. It’s short and contains tips to liven up your virtual meetings.

Hey, Dear Readers, I’m here for you when you have questions about your own communication or relationship “challenges.” Feel free to send me an email. Full disclosure here: I don’t charge anything when people send me questions or comments via email. Staying connected is what it’s all about for me.

Have a Great Week!

A Motivational Quote to Remember During Healthy Conflict

Healthy Conflict is a term that surprises people at times.  Yes, conflict can be both healthy and unhealthy.

The next time you need to give constructive feedback, make sure it’s constructive (healthy conflict) and not sarcastic and full of revenge.
This is a great quote to remember when others give you destructive feedback.  Remember this person doesn’t have the great communication skills that you have while you are learning how to be a MASTER Communicator while reading these articles! 🙂 Just saying.

Every coaching client who works with me knows the importance of getting great results during tough conversations and not concentrating on being right.

My Favorite Quote on Inspiration by Rapper Nipsey Hussle

favorite motivational quote

Welcome to our new blog readers! Welcome back to my loyal blog readers!

You will find information about the Weiss Success Communication Plan plus so much more in Kick Conflict to the Curb Weekly Newsletter.

My favorite quote from Nipsy Hussle is more important now since we have time to evaluate our relationships and life during this pandemic.

I’m no longer a member of several networking associations because there are new groups that are more relevant to my new career in the virtual training world. I joined Video Rock Starz with Gina Carr in February. This group of like-minded coaches and speakers has given me new hope and skills.

Many of you know that I launched a new virtual communication course; Kick Conflict to the Curb; Get the Respect YOU Deserve. These classes have supported participants to evaluate their communication skills and relationships. This is powerful for all of us. I’m launching a new class in January 2021 and if you are curious about it, please send me an email and I will send you information about the launch

WBECS is another group (World of Business and Executive Coaching Summit) that I joined because the top coaches in the world teach us the newest coaching techniques. The benefit for you is that I share the best information that my loyal readers will learn and use in their own life.

What message do you hear from Nipsey Hussle’s motivational quote?

Do you need to work on your “cages” to find new people or groups that fit your new life during these crazy times?

What new groups have you found to satisfy your personal and professional growth needs?

These times are both positive and negative. I encourage all of you to look for new groups or classes to give you hope and even excitement to do and learn something new.

We want to hear from you. Add your comments to the blog or send me a private email at Joyce@JoyceWeiss.com.

Negative People are Part of Our Reality!

It’s true that negative people are part of our reality.
Here’s a powerful question for you – How many times do you remind yourself that you don’t need to be with people who bring you down?
We all know this, yet many of us don’t know that we can set boundaries and actually change this reality.

Yearly I do a serious job of spring cleaning for clothes, the house, and relationships that are toxic.  You heard me right.  We all have those people who constantly complain yet never change anything in their life.  Life is too short to be around negative people who rain on our or their parade.

Start thinking about how you can and need to spend more time with those who make you laugh, smile, think, learn, etc.  We all have our own definition of toxic people.  Remember this the next time you speak to a friend who complains about everything.  I’m not saying to end the relationship all the time.  Implement a plan to be with those who support you and bring joy to your life.

Please let me know how this motivational poster on negative people speaks to you in the comment section.

There are many options to fit your budget and time schedule!   My last 4 clients have asked me to help them feel more comfortable with their public speaking skills.  It only takes a few sessions to make this happen.  Hey, what can I say?  I’m quick and clients use their new public speaking skills immediately.  A win/win for all.  🙂

My Favorite Motivational Quote from Aesop to Start Your New Year

favorite quote | Joyce Weiss

Happy New Year to you and your family!

I thought that this motivational quote is a perfect one to share with you as we start our new year.  Think of all the acts of kindness that you showed this past year – giving to your favorite charity, helping the homeless, volunteering or so many other ways.favorite motivational quote | Joyce Weiss

An Act of Kindness Goes A LONG Way

I was spending some quality time with my grandson, Justin at our favorite restaurant.  We were talking about altruism.  Not a bad discussion to have with a 20-year-old! 🙂  Our waiter, Dylan was outstanding and we joked with him while he made the dining experience very special.  I decided to call over his manager to express our gratitude for Dylan’s professionalism.  I asked Dylan to join us because I wanted him to know what I was about to say to his manager.

Dylan’s eyes beamed with appreciation and his manager kept on thanking us for recognizing his star employee.  Justin said, “Joycee
(that’s what my 3 grandkids call me) you just showed an altruistic act.”

I didn’t even realize that when I was giving Dylan’s manager the positive feedback.  This small act of kindness was for one reason and one reason only, to make sure that Dylan’s manager knew how much we appreciated the entire meal, especially the service.

How do You Show Your Appreciation to Others?

Think about small acts of kindness that you showed this year, it feels great plus someone else benefits besides us.

Please let me know how you show acts of kindness.  Let’s spread this feeling to others because there is so much negativity and hate and these little things make a huge difference for others.

I always say that I change the world, one person at a time when I coach emerging leaders, individuals or small groups to kick conflict to the curb to get the respect that they deserve.  It doesn’t take much these days to show appreciation for someone else.

I thank all of my loyal readers for your comments, interest, and questions all of these years.  I appreciate you – big time!
Let’s toast each other at midnight. 🙂

Until next time,
Joyce Weiss, M.A., CSP
