How to Create Your Own Career Path – Part 2

How can you regain control and create your own career path when your career’s in a rut?
Last time we covered:

1. Safely navigate work’s potholes, ruts, curbs, obstacles, and challenges.

2. Take the direct route.

Here are Two More Strategies to Create Your Own Career Path

3. Stay Balanced When the Road is Bumpy.

The majority of people are running on empty. And they focus only on their stuck career. In fact, this cripples their opportunities. create your own career path | controlling stress

The quickest way to identify what is missing is to know your core values.

  • What’s holding you back from achieving balance in your day?
  • Can you say, “No” to the things that aren’t consistent with your core values?
  • Ask yourself what’s missing in your career.
  • Think about your former jobs. And discover what you liked about them.
  • Look for patterns and you will figure it out.

Keeping balanced is a challenging ordeal when you ignore your personal values for the sake of others.

You first must be true to yourself to gain balance. Especially, when you can gear down, relax, and enjoy the flowers on the side of the road. As a result, you finally see the right path.

4. Stop Pedaling in Circles to Create Your Own Career Path.

How long has it been since you’ve tried something new and different in your work? create your own career path | Joyce Weiss | Career Coach

First, evaluate yourself personally. And, ask people you trust to make suggestions on how you need to grow. Additionally, ask them how they see your career growth. This will help you continue to create your own career path.

Next, use their advice to guide your education decisions. Do you need to take a computer class, a writing course, or attend a management training workshop?

Is it time to carve a new career or enhance your current one? Finally, it’s important for you to take responsibility for your own future. Evaluate all of the information. After this, take the next step to create your own career path. It’s worth the extra work.

Concluding Thoughts

Start to safely navigate workday obstacles and use straight talk. Additionally, stay balanced, and keep learning. As a result, you will recapture the feelings of your youth. Remember when your bike was your ticket to exhilaration?

You’re the one in control! Sometimes the journey will be easy coasting, while other times it will be an uphill bumpy trek.

Either way, it’s up to you to shift your professional life in gear and create your own career path.
