Each week will focus on a communication theme. Effective exercises will be used weekly.  Effective communication is the goal to achieve conflict management resolution.  The four weekly themes for this course are:

Week 1: The importance of Be Direct with Respect® in the workplace
What is the definition of Be Direct with Respect®? Benefits of using Be Direct with Respect®  effective communication language. How much time is wasted in your day from others interrupting you? How can you stop these interruptions to do the things you want and need to do? Giving and receiving positive feedback. How to build your self esteem while using Be Direct with Respect®.

Week 2: Use constructive feedback to get necessary results
What mistakes have you made in the past while using constructive feedback? Why do others fear using constructive feedback? What techniques work in order to tell others what they NEED to hear? Guidelines for accepting constructive feedback. The difference between The Power of I and You - Blaming Conversations

Week 3: Protecting yourself when others push your hot buttons
How can you use verbal aikido-a self defense technique in order to gain control during conflict? How to say, "no." How to take risks in order to Be Direct with Respect®.

Week 4: Certain words to use to help you Be Direct with Respect®
How to ask for what you need. Build self esteem. Analyzing childhood messages. How to change a negative self image in order to use Be Direct with Respect®. Questions to ask in order to Be Direct with Respect®. Building trust in order to use Be Direct with Respect®.
